CEOs and Managers Visit Borgo Laudato Si’

CEOs and Managers Visit Borgo Laudato Si’

Moving beyond mere philanthropy to include the poor and marginalized in companies, thereby making them resources. Welcoming young people, even when they lack the necessary experience and skills. Accelerating innovation processes for the care of our common home.

These are the three guidelines Pope Francis presented to a group of entrepreneurs, company managers, and bank collaborators from around the world, whom he met this morning, accompanied by Sister Alessandra Smerilli, Secretary of the Dicastery for Promoting Integral Human Development and a Board Member of the Center for Higher Education Laudato Si’. These are members of the Sustainable Markets Initiative network, a project launched in 2020 by King Charles III, then Prince of Wales, during the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos. The aim of this initiative is to bring together the best organizations in industry and financial services to achieve global goals on climate, biodiversity, and sustainable development.

After the meeting with Pope Francis, Sister Smerilli accompanied the delegation to the Gardens of the Pontifical Villas of Castel
Gandolfo to present the Borgo Laudato Si’ project.

During the visit, Sister Smerilli had the opportunity to delve into the three pillars on which the Borgo is being built: integral ecology,
environmental sustainability, circular and generative economy.
